About Me…
Let me start by stating the obvious… I love travel. I love every second of take-offs, landings, long layovers, new places, new people and breath-taking views. And I want EVERYONE to be able to travel if they wish it. This is why it is so crazy to me that so many people don’t travel. According to the New York Post, 11% of Americans have never traveled outside of their home state, 54% of Americans have traveled to fewer than 10 states, and 40% of Americans have never traveled internationally. I started asking myself why is this the case? The answer for most Americans is a simple one… the budget.
So about me, I am a first generation Brazilian American, and in Portuguese when you are traveling you say “Vou Conhecer.” This phrase translates to, “I’m going to get to know (the place).” I’ve always loved this saying. Instead of just visiting a place, you are going to meet it, and have it change you. Because when you travel, it inevitably has an impact on your mind and soul. Most importantly, when you come back, you will be a different person.
So here I am, just an ordinary accountant by day, trying to tell you that anyone on any budget can travel, and this blog, other than being an outlet for my travel obsession, is to help you budget for travel and to provide itineraries to help take some of the stress out of researching and having to make constant decisions. I do this to share my love of travel with you in hopes that it will give you the inspiration you need to make your own amazing travel memories and awaken your gypsy soul.
“Take vacations. Go as many places as you can. You can always make money, you can’t always make memories.”
